Blazing Data Acquisition Speed |
AlphaArray™ Reader gathers the emission
signal from the entire sample in real time compared to
PMT/laser technologies that have to excite and scan each
pixel separately. |
|
Current Limitation
Scan from a typical laser/PMT device: 60 sec. acquisition
time, 16mm x 22mm array, Cy3 labeled slide. (CLONTECH

AlphaArray™ Reader Innovation
Same Cy3 labeled slide capture with AlphaArray™: Reader
1.5 sec. acquisition time, 16mm x 22mm array. NovaRay™
Light Management System technology reduces comparable
acquisition time by 10-100 fold. |
Unrivaled Sensitivity |
AlphaArray™ Reader provides exceptional sensitivity
for even the most demanding applications. Designed around
the unique NovaRay™ Light Management System, AlphaArray™
Reader simultaneously provides real time light collection
of the entire two dimensional sample with over one million
pixels which increases sensitivity while maintaining
precise data consistency. Unlike confocal optical systems
that only give a thin slice, the AlphaArray™ Reader
collects all the fluorescence. AlphaArray™ Reader achieves
sensitivities greater than 0.06 fluor/micron(2). |
Powerful Image Acquisition and Analysis
Tools Provide Unequaled Data Integrity |
The inherent hardware and software design
technology incorporated into AlphaArray Reader generates
superior image quality, details, linear dynamic range, and
reproducible results. Moreover, with the ArrayEase™
software data analysis is a snap with automatic grid
alignment, spot detection, and background correction.
Alpha Innotech Corporation’s extensive experience in
developing signal detection algorithms with easy workflow
allows users to automatically align, detect, and
background correct spots with a single button click as
well as allowing for quick and easy individual spot data
display. |
|
Current Limitation
Line plot of Cy3 labeled slide scanned with a laser/PMT
device. Note how the noise and scatter in signal intensity
appears as “cavities” in the profile. |
|
Imaging Innovation
Line plot of identical slide read by AlphaArray™. Reader.
The NovaRay™ Light Management System collects all of the
fluorescence to deliver smooth, solid quantitative
performance. |
Integrated Ease of Use |
Data acquisition is a breeze with an automated and
intuitive software workflow designed into the ArrayEase™
software.
| Automatic image exposure and focus modes select the
proper scan time and focal plane depth with a single
button click. |
| Customized templates for image acquisition settings
allow you to automatically configure the system for
precise and reproducible results for multiple
experimental settings. |
|
|
Reliable High Throughput |
AlphaArray™ Reader provides reliable high throughput
performance for the most demanding of requirements. With
the ability to process hundreds of slides per day with
batch operations and bar code reading, the ArrayEase™
software package provides extensive tools for automating
multiple sample operation while ensuring accuracy and
reproducible results. The removable sample tray holds
multiple slides without the risk of slide jams that can
occur with cartridge based autoloading technologies. |
|
Full Spectrum of Sample Labeling Choices |
Hundreds of combinations of dyes can be
read with 8 different broad excitation wavelengths all
designed around the NovaRay™ Light Management System.
AlphaArray™ is capable of supporting the following common
fluorescent dyes, while custom emission filters can be
provided for emerging dye choices as required: |
Cy3
Cy5
Cy3.5
Cy5.5
FITC
Alexa 488, 532, 546, 594
BODIPY 630/650

ROX
TAMRA
Tetramethyl Rhodamine
Texas Red
and many more... |
Exceptional Resolution and Dynamic Range |
The AlphaArray™ Reader is a 16-bit (0 - 65,535
grayscale range) system that acquires data with
exceptional resolution and dynamic range for all array
exposure times. The near real time dynamic display feature
generates a high resolution, high dynamic range image
every time at blazing acquisition speeds. |
Unmatched Sample Format Versatility |
Reading a variety of sample formats is a standard
capability of AlphaArray™ Reader. The removable sample
holder tray of AlphaArray™ Reader can accommodate up to
twelve 1" x 3" slides with varying thickness or
dimensions. Optional sample holders can accommodate larger
slides or plate based assay formats as well. The
AlphaArray™ Reader is compatible with all commercially
available slides and custom arrays. |
Advanced Database Capabilities |
Our graphical reporting tools provide the ability to
view or export data in easy to understand statistical
reports and formats. The ArrayEase™ Software imaging
software has several data reporting views for data
results, spot plots, intensity histograms, and scatter
plots that can be exported to databases in user defined
table formats. Also, the database engine of ArrayEase™
Software provides smooth and flexible interaction with
downstream data migration, visualization, and data mining
requirements. User driven data selection finds the crucial
data and delivers presentation ready results. In addition,
ArrayEase™ Software is integrated with web accessible
databases. By entering a URL or importing a preferred URL
with an array list, your default web browser will open the
genomics database and automatically search the database
for information about your selected sample. |
|
Dependability You Can Count On |
The core technology incorporated into AlphaArray™
Reader is reliable and robust even in the most rigorous
environments. AlphaArray™ Reader ELIMINATES the necessity
to repair expensive lasers or perform optical alignments
required with other scanners. Also, the advanced design of
AlphaArray™ Reader ELIMINATES uneven scans due to laser
power fluctuations or x, y stage pixel by pixel
registration variations. The AlphaArray™ Reader delivers
the reliability to rapidly achieve your genetic discovery
goals. |
